In the maze of life's uncertainties, I found my guiding star by focusing on what matters most. For me, that meant prioritizing my family and finding a career where I can help people!
It was a challenging time for me as I found myself lacking direction and purpose. High school had been a turbulent period in my life, as I found myself hanging out with the wrong people and making bad choices. As a result, I struggled to figure out what I wanted to do with my life and felt directionless.
The one true direction I had was my then-girlfriend, who is now my wife, Kristen. She was there for me through every high and low. Getting married and starting a family was the one clear goal I have always had. Growing up, I had three sisters and took care of them for much of our early lives. I can’t imagine a more fulfilling thing to do with my life than be a father.
For many years, I worked in jobs that supported this dream. Whether it was retail or construction, I just wanted to earn enough to provide for us. When we returned to our roots in Grants Pass, I had a job waiting for me in the meat department of an organic store, and I became the meat department manager. It was a stable job that allowed me to provide for our growing family, but I never felt truly fulfilled by the work.
With three kids and a wife, I felt my life was finally falling into place, but there was still a missing piece. Deep down, I had always been interested in real estate. My parents had dabbled in real estate as part-time brokers, and my dad's work in remodeling houses sparked my interest in the field. So, in 2015, I decided to pursue my passion for real estate. Initially, I saw it as something I would do part-time while continuing my job as manager of an I.T. department; however, life had other plans for me.
Unexpected circumstances pushed me to take a more accelerated route into real estate. There were changes in my job, and I knew I didn’t want to be there much longer. With a family to provide for, I made the decision to quit, having enough money to sustain us for six months. This was a rare opportunity to devote as much time as possible to real estate. I wanted to be the kind of real estate agent that I wished I had during my first home-buying experience – knowledgeable, trustworthy and dedicated.
Leaving behind the security of a stable job was both scary and exciting. But my wife stood by my side, and her unwavering support made the journey less daunting. Real estate is all about building connections and approaching every client with the same honest intention to help them. Utilizing my background in construction and passion for building relationships, I found more than a job but a true purpose. With every client I work with, I hope to make a meaningful difference in their lives.
Over the years, I've learned a lot and grown as a real estate agent. While I may have long hours or need to work on the weekends, it doesn't feel like work because I love what I do. I am able to balance work with family time and the outdoor activities we enjoy, like fishing, rafting and motorcycle riding. Having a fulfilling career and personal life is invaluable, and I am grateful every day I took that leap of faith and quit my job, committing to real estate full-time.
As I continue to grow in my real estate career, I know there's always room for improvement and new milestones to achieve. But what matters most to me is that I've found purpose, direction and happiness on this journey.
When I bought my first home, I faced the issue of finding a REALTOR® I could trust who could best represent me and my interests. Truthfully, it was hard to find a well-rounded person who was knowledgeable, caring and communicative. This inspired me to be the best agent I could be. I wanted to help people in ways I didn’t feel I had been helped. With a background in retail and construction, I have exceptional customer service skills and extensive knowledge of homes and building materials, ensuring my clients are always investing in quality.
For my clients, I strive to offer the same high-quality service, no matter your price point. That means, whether this is your first home or your fifth investment property, I want to provide a great experience and help you reach your goals! I enjoy being a problem solver for my clients, helping tackle any bumps in the process to ensure a smooth closing. Even when the transaction is over, I will remain your trusted REALTOR® for life, here to support you throughout the entirety of your homeownership journey.
Sincerely,
Justin Burton
